Fancy Blues & Tennis Shoes

HELLO 2017. “New Year, New Look?” Okay, not entirely a new look, but it’s time to hang up those sparkly dresses worn over the holidays and get back to business. HELLO post-holiday January Uniform.
After the holidays all I want to do is relax. Since I’ve been on vacation for what seems like forever; I’m taking a break from going out this month. It’s time for me to get in the routine of focusing on school, work, and my relationships. I don’t want to invest too much time in getting dolled up every day so I’ve tailored this “uniform” as an option to wear to class, work or even a DATE.It reflects my casual lifestyle while still looking cute.
I’m headed back to San Francisco in a couple of days where the weather is still very very cold, so it was only fitting that I incorporate something warm to the outfit. I’m really into detailed sweaters right now. The one pictured is from Topshop ($50!!). It’s a light Tiffany’s blue with side-slits and a ribbon to tie around your wrist. I paired it with a pair of Topshops “Jaime” high-waisted Moto jeans. This is my first pair of high-waisted jeans and I couldn’t resist buying them because of how nicely they fit. I’m talking length & material. I wouldn’t wear this sweater with regular skinny jeans – the side slits on the sweater show where the jeans start making the sweater look long and my legs short, but the high-waisted style gives my legs a longer appearance. (Anything helps with my petite frame!) Since I love feeling comfortable and find myself on my feet a lot living in the city, these tennis shoes from Nautica are great for daytime activities. The two-toned white and metallic style gives my casual look a chic feel to it. No need for accessories. Now to switch to evening attire; I’m kicking up my heels, (literally) I love these suede laser cut pumps from BCBGeneration.
